The Fairbanks Museum and Planetarium

This museum is a wonderful place for the every one to visit. Plan on spending at least an hour here, more if you are going to catch the show at the Planetarium. The museum features a unique Victorian style collection of local wildlife. Seeing these creatures so close is a rare treat.

Burke Mountain

 Burke Mountain is the center of activity all year round offering excellent downhill skiing, cross country skiing, as well as mountain biking and hiking. Rentals are available at the mountain or just at the base of the mountain in East Burke. East Burke Sports carries quality mountain bikes, ski and snowboarding equiptment, snow shoes, snow board and down hill ski packages. Caledonia County Fair

If you happen to be inthe North East Kingdom in the second half of August be sure to visit the fair. Located in Lyndonville just 15 mins from the cabins. This is an agricultural fair with lots of family entertainment. Call 802-626-5917 to check dates.




Northeast Kingdom Artisans Guild

A cooperative shop featuring fine handcrafted gifts by Vermont Artisans.  Works in clay, fiber, glass, wood, and metal. Handmade candles, pottery and prints. Under the Purple awning in Downtown St. Johnsbury. About 18 mins 802-748-0158




Maple Grove Farms of Vermont

Go see this maple museum and take a tour of their factory! Tours start every 15 mins and run continuously in the fall. Plan to spend about an hour at this site following a knowledgeable tour guide through two floors of the factory.  Next stroll through the Sugar House Museum and learn about "The Whole Sugaring Experiance"  Be sure to visit the Red Roofed Cabin Shop for some delicious samples to take back with you! http://www.maplegrove.com 802-748-5141 about 18 mins away.




Crystal Lake

Crystal Lake offers an amazing view of the Barton area.

Swimming, fishing and hiking areas are easy to find.

Jeudevine Falls

         

This 130 foot waterfall is found about 50 minutes from the cabins. It has nature trails, gardens and a maze that could challenge all ages. This attraction is handicapped accessible and special needs friendly. It hosts the largest collection of deciduous Azaleas and Rhododendrons in Northern Vermont. Open Mermorial Day thru November 1st. Rent A Boat on Lake Memphremagog

You don't need to know how to pronounce it to enjoy it! Rent a 20' pontoon with 30hp O/B for $95.00 a day or their 16' Lund with 8hp O/B for $49.00 a day Monday-Thursday. $125.00 per day and $95.00 respectivly on the weekends. Call 802-334-5911 Approx 45 mins away.
